A typical newborn session with a professional Calgary or Okotoks newborn photographer can last anywhere from two to four hours. The duration of the session depends on various factors, including the baby’s feeding and sleeping patterns, the number of setups and poses, and the need for breaks and soothing.
Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect during a typical newborn session:
- Set-Up and Preparation: When you arrive at my studio, there will be some time allocated for setting up the props, backdrops, and lighting equipment. This ensures a comfortable and safe environment for your baby.
- Feeding and Soothing: Newborns often need to be fed, changed, and comforted during the session. I have build in time for these necessary breaks, allowing your baby to relax and settle before moving on to the next pose or setup.
- Poses and Setups: The majority of the session will focus on capturing those adorable, curled-up poses and capturing the unique features of your baby. I will guide you through different setups, utilizing a variety of props, wraps, and accessories to create beautiful and artistic images.
- Parent and Family Portraits: I have the option to include parent and family portraits during the session. This allows you to capture the special bond and joy shared between you and your baby. This portion of the session typically takes place towards the end.
- Patience and Flexibility: Newborn photography requires patience and flexibility. I understand that babies can be unpredictable and may need additional time for settling, feeding, or soothing. I will work at the baby’s pace, ensuring a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
It’s important to note that the duration of a newborn session can vary based on individual circumstances. Some babies may sleep deeply and settle easily, while others may need more time and attention. Professional newborn photographers are skilled in creating a soothing environment to capture beautiful images while ensuring the safety and comfort of your baby.
By allowing ample time for the session and working with an experienced Calgary or Okotoks newborn photographer, you can relax and enjoy the process, knowing that every precious moment is being captured in stunning detail.
