My New Studio Is Open!
Newborn Photographer – Calgary
Excited is an understatement!
This is something I’ve been dreaming about and working on for years and it’s finally happened.
For the last 5 years I’ve shot all my newborn sessions right at my home studio. I’ve had a dedicated room, down a hall, that had all of my newborn props, blankets, hats, headbands, buckets, bowls, etc for years. There was even a comfortable love seat in there for my parents to relax on. But, let’s admit, it was tight. And it was hot! I really did love my home studio, but I quickly grew out of it.
So here I am, keys in hand, to my very own dedicated Newborn Studio!
I now have a waiting area for the parents, siblings and grandparents to hang out in. There’s comfortable seating, along with coffee and snacks for you to enjoy while I take your baby’s pictures. Down a (very short) hall is my dedicated shooting area.
It must be at least 3x’s larger than what I had at my home studio. When I first moved in and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the space, but all the possibilities were overwhelming!
It’s so nice to have all this space now. I’m able to set up 2-3 extra shooting areas to really help speed up my newborn sessions. I have my main area that I use for 100% of my newborn sessions. I call it my table, because well, that’s what it is. On the table is where I do the majority of my posing. It’s where I pose your little baby into those cute sleepy pictures you see in my portfolio.
Another area I now have is just for family pictures. I no longer have to move my table out of the way to take your family pictures during a newborn session. I can just roll my paper backdrops down and shoot away! I also have the space to stand on my step stool with moving my table around.
I also am able to set up all my prop poses before your session and easily grab them off the selves. I can lay down my floor backdrops and easily move from one set up to another. I’m also super excited to start adding “mugshots” to your session! These are new and they might be my favorite poses because they’re totally unposed! I’ll get into more about what those are later, but for now, I actually have the space to set up for those shots too!
I hope you enjoy my new studio as much as I do!
